We’re so excited to welcome you to our vibrant and inclusive community! Whether you’re new to middle school or just new to this middle school, we know transitions come with questions and the PTA is here to help you feel connected, supported, and informed every step of the way.
The PTA exists to build bridges between families, students, and staff and to make this already-great school experience even better. We fund everything from student trips (including transportation and gear), to arts and electives, after-school activities, student-led projects, and community-building events like family potlucks and Parent Coffee Conversations. We also support exploration-based learning in the school’s signature Expo program, which takes students out into the world to places like the Billion Oyster Project, Brooklyn Grange, and more.
And we need you! The PTA is still looking for awesome parents to join our Executive Board, including:
• 1 Co-President
• Up to 2 Treasurers
• Up to 2 VPs of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
No experience required, just be a current MS 447 parent or guardian, and bring your energy! To nominate yourself (or someone else), email ptams447@gmail.com with the role you’re interested in and a short note about your skills or experience.
