–The Fresh Air Fund: At overnight camps in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley, children ages 8-15 make new friends, develop leadership skills and gain self-confidence.
–STEM (Science/TechnologyEngineering/Mathematics) Matters NYC: This summer, STEM Matters NYC is offering a variety of exciting, hands-on, experiential science and STEM programs for students entering grades 1-12 in September 2024. Students entering grades 1-9 can participate in a weeklong camp.
–COASTAL CLASSROOM SUMMER INSTITUTE: A five-week program, from July to August, for children to get hands on experience in learning how to explore and care for NYC’s aquatic habitats at Kaiser Park in Brooklyn, Monday through Thursday.
–NYC Recreation Centers (free up to age 24) With a membership, you can get fit, learn new skills, develop your hobbies, and make friends. Your kids can even Learn To Swim and join media education summer programs for free.
–Creativity in Engineering, Science, and Technology (CrEST) @ NYU NYU Tandon’s Center for K12 STEM Education introduces middle school students to circuity, electronics, mechanical systems, physical computing, robotics and other STEM disciplines through hands-on, lab-based demonstrations, experiments, and projects that offer important learning experiences.
–Good Shepard Summer Programs – When the last school bell has rung for the year, Good Shepherd Services transforms many of its after-school programs into free summer camps.
-The Octavia Project Summer Camp is a FREE summer camp for young women and trans, nonbinary, and/or gender non-conforming youth who will be in grades 6-8 next school year. Together we will create, explore, build, and have FUN in daily workshops that combine science, tech, art, and writing. We’ll also go on field trips that explore art & STEM in NYC. Whether you like to write stories, draw comics, or game, the Octavia Project welcomes you.
–Girls Rise Up is STEM From Dance’s three-week summer program designed for girls to explore the exciting world of STEM. Each day is jampacked with dance to get participants moving and to supercharge their STEM skills.
