MS 447 is delighted to offer our incoming 6th graders an opportunity to experience our annual Camp Bernie overnight trip. Camp Bernie is a YMCA camp in Ridgewood, New Jersey, that offers ‘project adventure’ type activities. The purpose of the trip is to have 6th graders engage in team, trust and communication building activities. This experience enables our students to bond and further support their transition to middle school.
Below are some of the basics you need to know. It is imperative that we communicate to ensure full student participation. We will continue to keep you informed as we gather permission slips, collect funds, and prepare for what promises to be an extraordinary trip.
TRIP DATES: Wednesday, October 19th – Friday, October 21th
TRIP COST: $200.00 –Includes lodging, food, programs and activities, and transportation
DUE DATES: ALL FORMS SEPTEMBER 26th. ALL MONEY OCTOBER 7th.
We want all children to have the opportunity to join us. Financial Aid is available, please contact Ms. Katz if payment is an obstacle.
Fund-Raising efforts have made a huge difference in the past. We will make candy boxes available for students to sell if they (and their family) agree. Unless, the school hears otherwise, all students will be asked if they would like to participate. They can simply say “yes”, “no”, or most typically, “I’m not sure”. It is a great way to ensure all participate.
We are looking for parent chaperones, please contact Ms. Katz if interested.
Look for both electronic and hard copies of all paperwork this week.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at the email below.
